Cycling Your Way To Health

Do not think of healthy exercise as a boring chore. Exercise can be lots of fun if you keep it varied and different. Among your many choices, cycling is exciting and full of thrills. Bikes come in many sizes and styles. You could choose a schwinn mountain bike or some other model, but either way, once you get your bike head out onto the road for fitness and fun.

Each different road type has its own special characteristics. Riding in the hills will be a tougher on your legs. Other terrain has other kinds of unique qualities. I have always thought that the best rides were ones on the coast. On some of those rides, the stupendous sunset views make the entire trip worthwhile.

Of course, you cannot become too distracted while on the road. Even in the face of the best sunset view, you have to remain aware of cars on the road. Auto drivers are often times unable to see cyclists (or so they claim). Keep an eye out for your own protection.

Fashion for cyclists really reveals your degree of dedication to the sport. Casual bikers, commuters, and kids tend to dress in whatever they put on when they wake in the morning. Biking is not such a defining characteristic of these riders. For other riders fashion s everything. Do you wear a red helmet or a black helmet? In some sets this choice can define everything.

Sometimes, you may find it impossible to get your bike out onto road. When this happens there are a couple of options. You can take a spinning class or you can use one of the stationary cycles down at the gym. Biking indoors is never the same as a real road trip, but sometimes it is all that is available.

Cycling is an aerobic exercise and a calorie burner. Do not be surprised by rapid weight loss when biking. Also, biking will improve your cardiovascular system and stamina. Many people find that they can enjoy cycling at advanced age. Because of the low impact nature of the cycling system, biking does not stress the joints and limbs.

Biking can also help to stimulate muscle growth. The thighs in particular receive the very best workout and become toned and strong. Good cyclists always stretch out their muscles before and after the ride to prevent charlie horses and muscle cramps.

Working out on the open road is a fulfilling activity. Biking is a means of keeping fit that is good for both the body and the mind.

Mountain Biking Strain Injuries Explained

Mountain Biking and indeed cycling in general is one of the most popular sports in the world. In can be used both as part of a fitness regime, commuting to work, in competitive sports, or just as a bit of fun. However, anyone who has ridden their bike for any great length of time or at high intensity will be only too aware that pains and strains can creep in if you are not careful. Below are details of three very common cycling complaints and advice on how to avoid suffering them yourself.

Wrist Injury. The large and aggressive forces that are generated when riding over large bumps on uneven terrain often find their way to the cyclist’s writs by traveling directly up the bike forks. What’s more, as your upper body weight is usually pushing down on your wrists, they can often be put under a lot of strain and become inflamed or injured.A good way to avoid this is have decent suspension on the bike to absorb a lot of the pressure, or alternatively find a bike that is made out of impact absorbing material like the best mountain bikes

Pain In The Backside. This problem can range from a mild discomfort to full blown muscle inflammation and damage, and is often seen in long distance riders. It is in every rider’s interest to address backside problems as soon as they can quickly become quite serious and even lead to problems with fertility. Purchasing a saddle that is not only good at absorbing shock, but also fits the shape of you backside is probably the most effective way of reducing any problems. You can also purchase special cycle clothing such as padded shorts which act to dampen the effect of harmful pressure.

Knee Problems. Another common complaint among riders is knee injuries, inflammation and general soreness. If you lock out your knees when you are cycling this can cause problems, but most often knee problems are a result of the bike. Try making sure all your bike components have shock-absorbing qualities, such as Zipp wheels which reduce the amount of force transferred through the knee joint.

There are many different types of bicycles available on the market today, the comfort bicycle, which is used by many recreational bike riders, the road bike, which is for people who enjoy pedalling along the tarmac, a trail bike or light duty mountain bike, recumbent bikes and heavy duty mountain bikes. It does not matter which type of biking you prefer, all cycling will help to improve your stamina, increase fitness levels and work your heart.

If you want o ride along roads or other smooth flat surfaces then road bikes are great. The wheels are thinner than a mountain bike. The frame is less bulky too.

For middle age and older bikers, recumbent bikes have been a popular choice. The recumbent bikes are the most comfortable because you can lean back on them in a relaxed position. And there is a softer seat for your bum. You will be sat with your feet in front of you like you are driving a car. Recumbent bikes are one of the fastest cycling machines. Riding with your legs in front of you is a lot less effort than underneath pedals but a lot more force is used. It does take time for your ‘recumbent muscles’ to develop but once you have got the hang of it you will find it difficult to use a normal bike.

Mountain biking is a sport enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. It can be expensive to buy a hi-tech mountain bike but it can be made cheaper by renting a bike from a store or group. If you want a light-duty mountain bike then you can use it for all types of riding. You can find mountain biking trails for beginners and experts. They are rated on a colour basis with green being the easiest and pink the most difficult. To reduce the risk of injury you should learn how to handle the bike and go slowly so that the damage done to your joints is minimal.

Whichever type of bicycle you choose, just do it! You can burn calories and give your heart a workout all in one go. What makes it even better is that anyone can bike and the family can relax together.

Are You Trying To Start Excercising More?

A lot of people out there have chosen to do a bit of excercise as their resolution to take in New Year for 2010. However what is the best form of exercise and why?

Gym

The gym can be a great place to go to not only to exercise but for help on exactly what you need to do so lose that weight or work on those muscles. There are always people around the gym that you can approach for help on deciding what you should do. However the major problem with this is that it can be very expensive and if you are not going with friends and are without an iPod you are going to be pretty bored. More often than not it takes a very large chunk of your pay away from you and on top of rent/mortgage and bills it will stop you from buying things you want.

Running

The great thing about running is that it is a very affordable way to get exercise. The air is freshest in the early mornings and evenings which is why I would certainly say this is the best time to go out for a run. This is certainly something that can be good for the body as it will slowly introduce it to the excercise. Many people do not like running and this is down to the fact that they are doing it in public and feel uncomfortable.

Cycling

Cycling is another major form of excercise and so many people are taking it up every single year. With more and more people caring about the environment I can only see the amount of people using bikes for excercise increasing. Once again it would seem that the problem comes because it is costly. Look around for the best Zipp Wheels and Cycling Shoes as well as looking for the best bike like a Trek Madone.

Other than these there are many alternatives such as swimming, weights and even using the Nintendo Wii. The real truth behind it is do what you feel is right for you.

Contrary to what we may have been used to in the past, getting the perfect mountain bike for ourself takes a lot of careful consideration when it comes to details.

From the most important aspect to think about before spending our money on a mountain bike, are the different dimensions of a mountain bike, and also which one that will suit us best.

When choosing Mountain Bike Sizes, we also have to take into consideration several other factors such as the frame, saddle tilt, and saddle height and handlebar position, among many others.

Choosing A Mountain Bike

There are various Mountain Bike Sizes that are just the right proportion to our heights. Generally, these sizes come in extra small at 14-15 inches, small at 16-17 inches, medium at 18-19 inches, large at twenty to twenty-one inches, and extra large at twenty-two to twenty-three inches.

From these sizes, we can pick out the right one that will be most ideal for our own size.

The saddle height and tilt are another consideration that comes with Mountain Bike Sizes. Perhaps we are used to tilting the saddle to make it easier for us when we sit but tilting it means that this is not the right saddle for us, you can browse around the internet to find out more about Saddle Sizes.

By getting one that will allow us to sit at a level height, we will be more comfortable in riding the bike especially for long jurney.

As for the saddle height, this is often adjustable in mountain bikes so this shouldn’t be a problem.

The handlebar position and how wide it is are also important aspects that come with different Mountain Bike Sizes. Having one that is too wide for our arm’s reach will make it uncomfortable once we have been riding it for awhile.

For the handlebar position, getting one that is more forward will allow us to ride with more powerful force.

Mountain Bikes Online

To help us get a better idea of what type of Mountain Bike Sizes we can get; we can check the internet for further information.

There are several sites that are designed specifically for mountain bike aficionados which can give us more tips on selecting the right kind of mountain bike and help us determine which one will best fit us.
