The American top 20 sports! What do you think?

Ok the top 5 are a definite yes, but do you agree with the rest of these?

  1. American Football - started in 1869 by the National College league.
  2. Baseball - A massive sport, with a world series, although other countries are not invited.
  3. Basketball - This is taken very seriously by the Americans and the Russians, but bigger in America.
  4. Hockey - American s love this sport, never a boring or dull moment, explains America beautifully.
  5. Golf - Always considered a posh mans sport, and it is, except Tiger Woods really set it off for everyone.
  6. Wrestling - Well it gets massive views every weekend, loved by Americans.
  7. Tennis - Americans have always played very good tennis, coming to Wimbledon and winning many trophies.
  8. Skateboarding - America launched this sport from nothing to everything, now being taken up around the world.
  9. Surfing - Well, America helped this sport to make its mark.
  10. Ice Skating - A Bigger sport in America than you may have originally thought.
  11. Boxing - Immense, probably my favourite, but needs a bit more TV time.
  12. Soccer – Has only just really started to happen for the Americans, but they are keen to push forward with it.
  13. Archery - Well when you have the likes of Geena Davis, your guaranteed to get a medal.
  14. Volleyball - Great fun for everyone, especially those watching.
  15. Cycling - Now some consider this a British and French sport, But the Americans show a lot of strength in it.
  16. Track and Field - Up until recently the Americans have completely dominated Track and Field events at the Olympics.
  17. Horse Racing - Will be a great sport for all, and could actually come higher in this list.
  18. Rock Climbing - This is a great sport, and fun for everyone even indoors, Alain Robert has helped things out with this.
  19. Extreme Sports – Anything that is considered by normal people to be very dangerous.
  20. Auto Racing - If i were to mention all of them, they would take up most of the list, but bring on Monster Truck.

Is this the right culmination of sports? Can you do better? What a great way to find out – try Las Vegas holidays or New York holidays to really find out

Three Easy Ways To Enjoy The Outdoors

It’s a sad fact but people are enjoying the outside less and less these days. TV and computers have taken over a lot of people lives and this is having dramatic medical implications all across the country. One of the most effective ways of getting to enjoy the outdoors again and understanding how good it can make you feel, is sport. So which sports are those that can get the blood pumping and get you in touch with nature best?

Mountain biking
. Most people learn to ride a bike at a young age and biking just gets better as you get older. You can pick up great second hand bikes these days for next to nothing and you can look up good cycle routes on the internet very easily. Additionally, biking is one of those sports that is accessible to all ages and abilities as you can go as fast or as slow as you like

Kayaking
. If solid ground is a little too mundane for you then one brilliant water-based sport you might like to try is kayaking. Like mountain bikes there are plenty of good used kayaks you can buy and all you need other than that is an oar and a life jacket. It is advisable to go out with a professional first so that you can learn the ropes but once you’ve got it there will be no stopping you.

Surfing. If you’ve managed to stay dry in the kayak and fancy getting your hair wet then why not find some friends, grab a number of surfboards and hit the beach. If you begin by just trying to surf on your tummy you’ll pick it up quite quickly, after which time you can progress onto standing. Surfing is one of those sports that is very addictive so be prepared for wrinkly fingers
